Bringing the Stories of Black Entrepreneurs to Life through Personas

Date: February 6th, 2025

Time: 1:30-3:30pm

Description:

Join us for an inspiring session highlighting key findings from the large-scale qualitative study on Black entrepreneurship. This novel study goes beyond numbers to capture the real experiences of Black entrepreneurs using evidence-based personas. These personas provide a nuanced understanding of the Black entrepreneurial community in Canada—highlighting the diversity within them, unique challenges, and the individuality of each entrepreneur's journey.

During the session, we will introduce participants to the four (4) personas developed to date, and collect feedback to ensure they accurately represent Black entrepreneurs and their diverse needs, aspirations, and expectations. Through this approach, we put a human face on the data, offering policymakers and community leaders a richer, more complete picture of the needs of Black entrepreneurs. The insights gained have the potential to transform public policy and discourse, improve support programs, and break down stereotypes that often obscure the diversity of the Black entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Whether you're an entrepreneur, policymaker, or advocate, this event is a unique opportunity to gain meaningful insights that can help shape a more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem in Canada. Discover

how you can leverage these findings to create tangible change and support the incredible diversity within the Black business community.
